Virginia Madsen is openly admitting what most actresses never even tell their best friends. She gets Botox injections. In fact, Madsen is the new spokesperson for Allergan, Inc – the maker of Botox and Juvederm.
Virginia says she gets lots of positive feedback from family and friends and admits that most people are surprised that she looks normal, just a little better, instead of a frozen wax figure. To ease the vanity issues these injectables cause, Virginia is of the “botox is a prescription medicine” school of thought and urges women to be wary of Botox Parties or discount salon services.
“I think a lot of people have lost sight of that with the growing popularity of these products. I don’t think anyone would ever consider having their eyes examined anywhere else but in a doctor’s chair. It is very similar.”
Virginia also suggests moderation when it comes to these medical treatments.
“I am not using these injectables to look 25,” she said. “I don’t want to be 25. I just want to look like me. I am 45, and I am in the best shape that I have ever been in my life.”
It’s good to know that we won’t see Virginia looking plastic and frozen ala’ Joan Rivers.
