Valeria Bertinelli is fat and she’s ready to fix it. You remember Val from One Day at a Time, well you do if you grew up in the late 70’s early 80’s. Valerie is joining Kirstie Alley as the new celeb face for Jenny Craig. Now that Val is rid of alcoholic ex- husband Eddie Van Halen (currently in rehab) she is ready to get rid of 30 pounds and vows to do it by September. Her goal is to go from a size 14 to a size 8.

Bertinelli says. “I need to do this in front of millions of people so I can’t mess up. It is freeing because I can say it first: I know what you’re thinking – I’m fat.”

 Valerie’s Jenny Craig campaign will be her major step back into the spotlight after being a Hollywood hermit for the past few years. Her last tv role was Touched by an Angel in 2003. Val said she didn’t even like going to interviews for the past few years because she didn’t want to hear the criticism about how fat she was. Although she won’t disclose her actual weight, her boyfriend of three years doesn’t even know the actual number, she is shocked that being a size 14 is considered fat and a size 0 is considered normal.
