Tiger Woods Loses First Sponsor – Leaves for SwedenPosted On: December 14, 2009 Comments Off
Accenture Ltd. has reportedly cut ties with Tiger Woods after six years, making the global consulting firm the first major sponsor to altogether end their working relationship with the pro golfer after reports of infidelity emerged. “After careful consideration and analysis, the company has determined that [Woods] is no longer the right representative for its advertising,” Accenture said in a statement to the Associated Press, adding that the decision comes after learning of the “circumstances of the last two weeks.” The firm’s campaign with Woods had a slogan that read, “Go on, be a Tiger.” According to AP, the firm is now planning to roll out new advertisements later in 2010. Someone should start a pool to see how long before the entire Tiger Woods house of cards falls. Gatorade discontinued his drink, Gillette pulled his ads. What will Nike, AT&T and EA Sports do? I read a report that claimed TW was going to lose about $149 million next year as he tries to piece his life back together. Those sure ended up being some expensive booty calls dude. Some media outlets are also reporting that after Tiger admitted to his triflin on his website over the weekend, he and the rest of his family took off for Sweden to stay out of the spotlight while the bean counters crunch some numbers to try to entice Elin to stay with him.
