Tom Cruise told David Letterman on May 2 that he “can’t wait to get married.” Really? It’s been almost a year since Tom proposed to Katie Holmes atop the Eiffel Tower in Paris — and the invitations still haven’t gone out. The reason for the holdup? Their lawyers have been busy hammering out a prenuptial agreement.
As Star has reported, Katie’s protective papa, Martin Holmes, a lawyer in Toledo, Ohio, has been wrangling with Tom’s attorneys for several months. Now, according to one published report, he’s gotten Katie, 27, a great deal: Tom, 43, has agreed to set up a $15 million trust fund for her and their newborn daughter, Suri, whether they actually wed or not. But if they do marry and later split up, Tom will have to fork over another $26 million of his estimated $460 million fortune.
Well, if you have to married to a alien loving lunatic, at least marry one that can pay off your family!
