We’ve been harboring a not so secret crush on John Cusack since he held up that boom box in Say Anything. And now after watching the trailer for his new movie The Martian Child, we are officially in full blown-smitten kitten-puppy love with this man. John plays a sci-fi writer/widower who takes in an orphan that thinks he is from Mars and together with his friend, played by the gorgeous Amanda Peet, they make an unconditional family trying their best to find their place in he world. The unlikely couple ignore parenting advice from the widowers sister (played brilliantly by Joan Cusack) and things get very strange when a series of occurrences lead them to believe the childs claims may be true. This is one of those movies that reminds us that family is really what it’s all about and your family is the one thing that give you sense of belonging, of having a place in the world.

For some more fun time-wasting at work, after you watch the trailer visit Martian Child Project to create your very own time capsule and tell the world what gives you your sense of place. Upload photos and videos of things and people that make up your universe.

Then join us in our very grown up crush on dreamboat John Cusack.
