We all got blindsided this week with the news that the next Spider-Man movie won’t star Tobey Maguire or be directed by Sam Raimi.

I’ve read that the new director will take Peter Parker back to high school..not sure why… he didn’t become Spidey till college, no? I’ve also read that Robert Pattinson and Superbad nerd Michael Cera are the top picks to replace Toby.

I would be epically shocked if Robert Pattinson agreed to put on red tights to play a much less cool supernatural being than he’s already mastered in  Twilight. He’s about to star opposite Uma freakin’ Thurman in Bel Ami…I doubt he’ll go for this nonsense. The new director WISHES he could get his hands on Edward Cullen.
