Yesterday Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler told Oprah a funny story about how Jen nearly ended up on SNL instead of friends.

“We wanted Aniston to be on the show with us,” Sandler remembered. “I remember being on the ninth floor where [SNL exec] Lorne Michaels’ office was, and seeing Jen come in. I was like, ‘Oh my God, there’s Aniston. Is she about to be on our show?’”

“She said no? She’s gonna do that ‘Friends’? What the hell is ‘Friends?’” Sandler recalled while laughing. “That was the truth.”

Jen said she picked Friends because SNL seemed like a boys club. I’d say she made the right decision since Saturday Night Live is well-known for firing really funny chicks. I’m in shock every week that Kristin Wig has managed to do so well with Lorne and co.

Watching Jim Carrey on Saturday Night Live over the weekend made me really miss the old Jim Carrey.

Most of you probably don’t remember, or are too young to remember,  Jim on In Living Color. He was the token white guy. If you’ve never seen him..you need to YouTube some of his female bodybuilder skits, or Fire Marshall Bill. Oh hell…I’ll do it for you. Watch that video and if you aren’t walking around all day saying “Let me show you something!” you just don’t get good comedy!

Just because the kids of the world missed out on Katy Perry’s cleavage on Sesame Street doesn’t mean we all have to suffer. Katy was the musical guest on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live over the weekend and she also appeared in a skit to mock the recent cancellation of her duet with Elmo.

Appearing on the ‘Bronx Beat’ sketch with Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph, Perry played Maureen, a teen who suddenly developed breasts over the summer and was now bursting out of her Elmo shirt.

Color me surprised, but that less than memorable skit that Lindsay Lohan did with Chelsea Handler on the VMA’s  Sunday night actually may have been the starting point for her comeback.

Because she is willing to mock herself publicly she is currently in talks to host an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live.

Given her willingness to be the brunt of a joke on Sunday’s “VMA’s,” it’s likely “SNL” will feed on her recent courtroom and jail shenanigans.
“We never comment on upcoming hosts until they’re announced,” said an “SNL” spokeswoman.

Did you watch it? The much awaited  Betty White Saturday Night Live gig marking the successful viral Facebook campaign went off without a hitch. More than that…that 88 year-old chick killed it.

Everyone is going on about her opening monologue, but my favorite sketch was the scared straight bit she did with Kenan Thompson. Is there anything funnier than a granny screaming “Wizard of Ass”?

She did have very funny moment during her monologue when she  joked that she made her live TV debut in 1952 because they “didn’t know how to tape things … I don’t know what this show’s excuse is.”

And kudos to Jay-Z for dedicating Forever Young to awesome Betty! It was the best SNL I’ve seen in a long ti-zime!
