Eminem: “I Was A Couple Hours Away From Death”Posted on: June 16, 2010 | Comments Off
I would have never expected Eminem to be so open about his battle with drug addiction. The normally severely private rapper seems to have found some sort of cathartic healing power in putting his struggle into his music and even talking about it in interviews. “Showbiz Tonight’s” Brooke Anderson caught up with Em backstage at his concert kicking off the E3 video game convention. Brooke met up with Eminem in a VIP lounge, and he talked about his new album, “Recovery” – which hits stores next Monday – and also really opened up about the trials he’s faced over the past several years “Recovery feels better than ever,” the Detroit rapper said. “Feels like I’m me again.” “It took me awhile to admit I actually did have a problem,” the musician said. “In the hip-hop world that I live in, it can be mistaken for weakness and the last thing you want to do in hip-hop is admit that you’re weak. But if I didn’t admit I was weak with this certain thing I was going to die.” When asked how close he was to death, the artist responded that he “was certainly a couple of hours away from death,” adding that he “overdosed and almost died.” Read more about Em’s battle and recovery and how Lindsay Lohan plays into this whole thing after the jump.
DJ AM & Travis Barker Expected To RecoverPosted on: September 22, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Doctors in Georgia say that Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) should recover fully, but it make take up to a year. Travis was burned on his torso and lower body, while DJ AM, was burned on his arms and a portion of his head. Dr. Fred Mullins of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors’ Hospital in Augusta said at a press conference that former Blink 182 drummer Barker, 32, and DJ Am (real name: Adam Goldstein), 35, are being treated for second- and third-degree burns. Mullins says recovery from such burns can take as long as a year but says that the men suffered no other injuries, adding: “Since both Barker and Goldstein are in overall good health and didn’t suffer from any other crash-related complications, a full recovery is expected.” All families involved in the horrific plane have requested privacy for time to grieve and come to terms with this tragedy. This means if you live in Augusta, Georgia stay the hell away from the Joseph M. Still Burn Center. If you show up there looking for an autograph Shanna Moakler just might kick your ass.
