I didn’t even see this on tv last night, but just reading about it nearly made me cry.

Nobody puts Baby in a corner! Ever! …Jennifer Grey broke down in tears when she first heard the song she would be performing to on Dancing with the Stars..because it reminded her of Patrick Swayze.

The Dirty Dancing actress made her debut on the reality TV show on Monday night (20Sep10), performing a Viennese waltz to Otis Redding’s These Arms of Mine, which appeared on the film’s soundtrack. But when Grey, who played Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman opposite Swayze in the 1987 movie, first heard the track in rehearsals she broke down because it made her miss her co-star.

In pre-recorded footage, Grey is seen crying and telling her professional dance partner, Derek Hough, “It took me back in a time capsule, and I was with Patrick. I just missed him. He was like you, young and gorgeous.”

But the star triumphed in the live show – picking up the highest scores from the judges on the night. After her dance, panellist Bruno Tonioli said, “Baby is back where she belongs. I know somebody up there is going to be very proud of you.”

Sad news. Patrick Swayze died today after a long battle with cancer. He was 57.

Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2008. His publicist says he died with his family at his side.

Patrick had been fighting cancer for so long and looked so drawn and tired. Let’s all just remember him from his salad days as Johnny Castle from Dirty Dancing.

Did anyone ever have a cooler line than, ‘Nobody puts Baby in a corner’.

Patrick Swayze is still alive and well and here’s the proof. Patrick’s peeps released this picture taken just last week of the actor and his wife on their ranch in New Mexico. The picture was in response to the wave of false rumors that Patrick had died earlier this week. The story originated on Kiss FM then quickly circulated on Twitter.

“This is to confirm that Patrick Swayze did not pass away this morning contrary to severely reckless reports stemming from a radio station in Jacksonville, Florida,’ said the actor’s spokesman.

‘Patrick Swayze is alive, well and is enjoying his life and he continues to respond to treatment.’

Sad news kids. Just as Patrick Swayze and A&E were starting to really promote their upcoming drama The Beast, pneumonia showed up. Tired and worn down from fighting cancer, Patrick was scheduled to appear at the Television Critics Association’s press junket at the Universal Hilton when the network had to announce he was ill.

“Patrick has asked that I tell you that this morning he checked himself into the hospital for observation for pneumonia,” A&E president and GM Robert DeBitetto said. “Chemotherapy can take its toll on the immune system, and illnesses are a part of that. Patrick wishes me to tell you that he’s very sorry he cannot attend, but plans to get back to promoting ‘The Beast’ soon.”

I’m sad to say that the once hunky Johnny Castle (Dirty Dancing) is a complete idiot. Patrick Swayze has been battling pancreatic cancer for a year but still refuses to give up his nasty cigarettes.

In an interview with Barbara Walters that will air Wednesday January 7th, Pat tells Barb that quitting his tobacco habit it not a high priority.

But he states, “I will go so far as to say probably smoking had something to do with my pancreatic cancer.” Swayze says he has “seriously cut back” on cigarettes.

Well I’m sure that will help your body recover from the awful chemo and the cancer cells that are eating your body alive. Idiot.
