No one expects much from MTV reality shows other than a vapid, beautiful cast given a script and told to pretend that it’s real life. So when the people they are documenting start calling for the show to be scrapped…you know it’s bad.

A national Italian-American organization based in New Jersey says an MTV reality show that depicts Italian-American beachgoers as the “hottest, tannest, craziest Guidos” is offensive and should be scrapped before it airs. UNICO National said Tuesday that “Jersey Shore” relies on crude stereotypes and highlights cursing, bad behavior and violence in depicting renters at a New Jersey beach house.

An MTV promo says the participants “keep their hair high, their muscles juiced and their fists pumping all summer long!” What’s not to love about that! After watching this trailer for the show I’m wondering why in the hell they didn’t get this on the air sooner!

Set your DVR’s…it debuts on MTV December 3.
