The Real Reason Melrose Place Fired Ashlee SimpsonPosted on: November 4, 2009 | Comments Off
According to Fox411 Ashlee Simpson was not fired so Heather Locklear could have a job…just as I thought..she was fired because she sucks. AND so Heather could come back. Ashlee was kicked off Melrose Place because she was a total diva on set, late all the time, and deeply disliked by fellow cast members,” the insider spills. “It created a lot of discord among the cast.” Another big problem, says the snitch? “She could barely act.” The source says producers desperately wanted Heather Locklear to reprise her role, but couldn’t afford her salary demands without cutting someone. It’s funny thought that they really think the 18-24 year old chick demo would rather see old ass Heather than Ashlee.
Jessica Simpson Slams “Melrose Place” On TwitterPosted on: November 3, 2009 | Comments Off
I think it’s sweet that Jessica Simpson is defending her little sister’s honor after she got fired from Melrose Place. I also think it’s sweet that she thinks her sister had any impact on that show whatsoever. I mean, she got fired over Heather Locklear for pete’s sake.
Ashlee Simpson Fired From Melrose PlacePosted on: October 23, 2009 | Comments Off
Ashlee Simpson did all that crazy crash dieting to get skinny for work all for nothing. She and her co-star Colin Egglesfield have been cut from the CW drama Melrose Place. The decision to cut the two actors has been “the original plan going into the development of the show,” executive producer Todd Slavkin tells EW. “We felt that once the murder mystery [involving their characters] was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift … and [Simpson-Wentz's] character would move on.” In a statement released after the announcement, Simpson-Wentz said, “Having the chance to play Violet on Melrose Place has been a thrill. Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance. Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of Melrose Place for allowing me this opportunity.” I’m interested to see what Papa Joe has her doing next. Prepare yourself for a new faux-rocker, mediocre album from the youngest Simpson sister.
Heather Locklear Headed Back To “Melrose Place”Posted on: September 22, 2009 | Comments Off
It’s always been just a matter of time before Heather Locklear returned to Melrose Place and today the CW released the following statement: “We’re ecstatic to have the chance to bring Amanda Woodward back to ‘Melrose Place,’” executive producers Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer said in today’s press statement. “Heather’s involvement in the show is something we’ve been working on for some time as we couldn’t imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character’s inclusion.”
Heather was originally brought in to the original series by Aaron Spelling to boost ratings. The combination of Heather’s bitchy character played to perfection and her micro-mini-skirts that could never be worn to the office in real life, did just that. Since the show is sucking again, the produces are going to following Spelling’s game plan and have Heather reprise her role as scheming ad exec Amanda Woodward. Amanda was last seen with Peter (played by her real-life beau Jack Wagner) faking her own death on the Melrose series finale in 2000. Heather Locklear returns to Melrose Place on Nov. 17.
Sneak Peak: CW’s New “Melrose Place”Posted on: June 16, 2009 | Comments Off
The pilot episode of The CW’s updated Melrose Place includes a murder, an engagement, prostitution and so much more. Just like the original, the show revolves around a group of 20-somethings who live in the same apartment complex. It seems the only thing that will be missing for the new “Place” is Heather Locklear’s incredibly inappropriate micro-mini skirt business suits.
