ABC is banking that everyone in the free world is going to tune in to find out just what the hell LOST is all about. As the series finale of the confusing show gets closer, a new report claims that the network will charge $900,000 for 30-second commercial for the final show.

Awesome news for LOST fans. Not only will we hopefully find out who will replace Jacob, why women can’t have babies on the island, who built that giant statue that is now a giant foot, if Desmond was really on that plane, if Sun and Jin are reunited and if Sayid and Claire are beyond fixable crazy…we’ll get to see some Superbowl quality commercials.

The series finale of LOST is slated to air as part of a three-hour block on Sunday, May 23. The 8 p.m. hour of the evening will be devoted to a recap of the mysterious show and the last episode will run from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

I don’t think any other television show has ever mastered the art of suspense as LOST has. The rumors, clues and spoilers for the finale season have been swirling around for months now and as we approach the February 2nd final season premiere the anticipation is getting hard to bare. Today the show released these two promo pictures based on Leonardo DiVinci’s Last Supper.

Some of the key points fans have picked up on since the photo was released include:

● In the first photo everyone is looking at Locke, who is clearly in the Jesus position. Could this be proof that his prophet-like role among the survivors and mystical understanding of the island will continue?

● There are skulls at both Sayid’s and Hurley’s feet. Is death knocking at their door? Or are they just stones or coconuts, meant as a red herring?

● It looks like wrinkles are visible on Richard’s face. Could he finally be aging? If so, what does this say about the magical, powers of the island?

Viewers will have to wait until the final series launches in the U.S. on February 2 to find out exactly what happens, but can expect a dramatic conclusion to the show.

ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson announced that Lost will end with a “highly anticipated and shocking finale.”

‘We felt that this was the only way to give Lost a proper creative conclusion,’ he said.
