Miley Cyrus Texting Jarod Followill From Kings Of LeonPosted on: March 9, 2011 | Comments Off
So Miley Cyrus is having a text relationship with dude from Kings of Leon. You know what that means. Jarod Followill (and the rest of the world) is about to see some secret Miley parts on a grainy cell phone picture. “Miley wants to keep Jared interested … she often sends him coy text messages.”
Gwyneth Paltrow Makes Peace With Glee & Kings Of LeonPosted on: February 17, 2011 | Comments Off
People hate on Gwyneth Paltrow so much these days. I get that GOOP is annoying to some people, but really Gwyn is just an all around good gal. She’s an entertainer that isn’t afraid to go outside her comfort zone (see her Grammy performance with Ceelo) and most of her movies aren’t that bad. I love that she and her husband are BFF’s with Jay-Z and Beyonce proving that they are open-minded and embrace all forms of music and their friends very different lifestyles. And unlike most, I love it that she manages to keep her marriage and private life PRIVATE. She proves to all the celebrity whiners that you can have a happy marriage and normal kids and not be on TMZ every night. And honestly, if you can past the ridiculous expensive hotel recommendations she sends out via GOOP then the lifestyle blog is really kind of interesting. Add to all this cool stuff about Gwyn the title of Peacemaker. She somehow with just a few text messages ended the feud between Glee creator Ryan Murphy and Kings of Leon. Last December, Murphy slammed the Kings of Leon and their refusal to grant Glee the right to cover their songs on television. “F— you, Kings of Leon. They’re self-centered assholes, and they missed the big picture. They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument.” Nathan Followill, the band’s drummer, fired back on Twitter, saying, “Dear Ryan Murphy, let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra. Zip your lip and focus on educating 7yr olds how to say f**k.” In stepped Gwyn with her diplomatic texts and viola! all is good. Glee stars Darren Criss and Chord Overstreet even went to the Kings of Leon’s Grammy after-party. So stop hating on Gwyn. She rocks!
Glee Says ‘**** You’ To Kings of LeonPosted on: January 26, 2011 | Comments Off
I think this Glee dude is taking himself and his show way too seriously. There’s been an ongoing one-sided feud between Glee creator Ryan Murphy and the tre’ cool guys of Kings of Leon. Murphy got pissed off when the band declined to have their song Use Somebody done on the show. F— you, Kings of Leon,” Murphy says. “They’re self-centered assholes, and they missed the big picture. They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument. It’s like, OK, hate on arts education. You can make fun of Glee all you want, but at its heart, what we really do is turn kids on to music.” For their part, the Kings of Leon didn’t understand the controversy. At the time of the request none of the band members had ever even seen the show and just thought they were turning down another television show license to use their songs. This Murphy dude also called out Slash from Guns N Roses for the same thing. Get over dude. Stick to your pop stars. That’s what the kids on your show want to see anyway.
Kings of Leon Turns Down GleePosted on: August 18, 2010 | Comments Off
Glee may have managed to land the top of pop charts with shows featuring Madonna, Rihanna, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga. But they ain’t getting Kings of Leon. In a statement that would make rock-defender Taylor Momsen proud..the Tennessee old-school style rock band says they don’t want to sell out by going on a network show. But they will do it THIS WAY. “We got an offer to appear on an episode of ‘Ugly Betty,’ ” bassist Jared Followill said. “They wanted us to play ourselves. We were supposed to come in and help her out with some problem or other.” He also confirmed that they passed on the “Glee” offer, saying, “We could have sold out so much more. We turn stuff down constantly.”‘
“Kings of Leon” Unveil Clothing LinePosted on: November 5, 2009 | Comments Off
From the WTF? file….the Kings of Leon are all set to release their own clothing line. KoL are the only real rock-n-roll band around these days in my personal opinion. I am also of the opinion that if you are a rock star..just be a freakin’ rock star. Not a political activist, not a designer, etc. That being said..their gear isn’t that bad. If you wanna look like Brandon and the boys and you don’t mind shelling out over $100 for a tshirt or close to $200 for a fringe scarf. Hey..it takes a lot of cash to look like a struggling, hipster musician. Don’t get me started on the $1200 leather jacket. Teaming up with French designers Surface To Air, the limited edition clothing line will go on sale exclusively at the Paris Texas shop in Copenhagen from early December. Fans wanting to see the collection or to reserve items can do so by visiting the shop’s blog HERE.
