Although to be fair, an up close camera phone shot like that does no one any favors.

So Russell Brand posted this picture of lovely wife this morning, then took it down like 3 minutes later. Just long enough for her to tear him a new one. Doesn’t he know that she can be sporting big zits like that in public? She might lose her Proactive contract.

Katy Perry announced on a taped appearance of The Ellen Degneres Show set to air today that she will be officially changing her name to Katy Brand. Sweet.

Katy says she in the process of legally changing her last name, which is really no big deal because Perry isn’t her real last name anyway. Her maiden name is Hudson but she changed it to her mother maiden name to avoid being confused with actress Kate Hudson.

Katy told Ellen that people are already called her Brand anyway..so why not do it.  “Sometimes when people try to get my attention. Like if I’m at an event or something like that and they want special attention. They go, “Mrs. Brand!” and I go shwoosh [looking back].”

So cute and such a cool thing for these artists and VH1 to do. VH1 Divas Salute The Troops tv special will showcase Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Paramour, Sugarland, and Grace Potter and The Nocturnals performing at military bases around the world and will be hosted by Kathy Griffin from the Marin Corps Air Station Miramar in  San Diego.

Katy Perry is now officially Mrs. Russell Brand. Katy and Russ were married by a Christian minister in what is being described as a “private and spiritual ceremony” at a nature preserve in India.

“The backdrop was the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India,” said the statement, which did not provide any further details on the ceremony. The wedding was held at the Aman-e-Khas luxury resort in a tiger reserve in Ranthambhore National Park, a hotel official said on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to the media.

No pictures yet as photographers were not allowed, but don’t worry. Katy and Russ sold their wedding pictures to some London mag so they will hit the net soon.

The wedding venue was lit with lamps, colorful lights illuminated the trees and flower garlands festooned the luxury tents at the resort, the hotel official said. Both Brand and Perry wore traditional Indian clothes to the wedding, the hotel official said. Perry donned a sari, as did a number of other female guests at the ceremony. On Friday, at a prenuptial celebration, Perry, like a typical Indian bride, had henna designs applied on her palms and hands.

Katy Perry will be marrying Russell Brand this weekend wearing a traditional Indian bridal nose ring called a nath.

Homegirl is fully embracing Indian tradition. These are going to be celebrity wedding pictures that I actually want to see.

The nath comprises of a gold chain attached to a nose ring which is hooked across the bride’s right cheek and pinned to her hair above the ear.

Tradition dictates the bride’s will wear the nath throughout the wedding day, with the bridegroom removing it on the wedding night as a symbol of the woman’s virginity ending. Insert your own “he’s too late for late” joke here.
