Note to Hugh Grant: This is why people think you are a pompous old douchebag.

Hugh Grant has confessed he was drunk when he bought a painting of Elizabeth Taylor that later made him an £11million profit.

The actor was lauded as an art connoisseur when he bought the work by Andy Warhol for £2million. And he was praised as a master of timing when he sold it six years later for £13million.

I am sure that Elizabeth Taylor was delighted to find out that you bought this overrated, albeit iconic, portrait of her because you had a few too many at the pub. That was probably information that was best kept to yourself.

I love Hugh Grant’s romantic comedies as much as the next chick..I mean how can you not love that ‘adorable man-child scared of commitment thing-but in the end I realize my  life if nothing without you‘ schtick? Except the man-child part is not so funny in real life when you are ‘like so old” and the chick you are trying to pick up is 23.

Hugh very publicly struck out with Project Runway contestant Matar Cohen Saturday night. He was so drunk that he didn’t even shy away from the camera and that’s where Celebslam picks up this story.

“Here’s some pics I took of Hugh Grant and Matar Cohen (Israeli model from Project Runway) from Halloween at the Standard Hotel in New York. He was drunk as hell and hitting on her like crazy. He kept taking pictures of her and said he liked the way she looked, but Matar didn’t go home with him because he was ‘too old’ (she’s 23).”

How pathetic is that? Should’ve settled down when Liz Hurley when you had the chance, dude. You guys could have been the UK version of Brangelina.
