Julia Roberts Is Hindu…Doesn’t Believe In Botox

Posted on: August 5, 2010 | Comments Off

Everyone is buzzing about the fact that Julia Roberts told Elle magazine that she doesn’t believe in Botox…but I’m more interested in the fact that she and her entire family are now Hindu. How interesting.

“The entire Roberts-Moder family, goes to temple together to “chant and pray and celebrate. I’m definitely a practicing Hindu.” says Roberts.

Well then she was definitely the perfect fit for Eat Pray Love. What a great, peaceful and honest way to raise your kids. Coming from someone who raised Katy Perry-style….this is incredibly refreshing to hear.

On Botox and plastic surgery:

It’s unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don’t even give themselves a chance to see what they’ll look like as older persons. I want to have some idea of what I’ll look like before I start cleaning the slates. I want my kids to know when I’m pissed, when I’m happy, and when I’m confounded. Your face tells a story… and it shouldn’t be a story about your drive to the doctor’s office.”

Hindu Leaders Demand Apology From Natalie Portman

Posted on: October 3, 2008 | Leave a Comment

The Hindu’s are after sweet little Natalie Portman for the role she played in her ex-boyfriend music video. Nat’s portrayal of Princess Carmensita in Devendra Banhart’s video of the same name has Hindu scholars claiming that they have “denigrated” Hinduism and that it “mocks Hindu concepts and symbols.”

Acclaimed Hindu and Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed admits he is deeply hurt by the video, which he claims simply serves to feed incorrect stereotypes of his religion. He says, “The images used in the video are revered in Hinduism and are not to be thrown around loosely for dramatic effects. We invite Hollywood to immerse itself in Hinduism, but we ask that actors and actresses, directors and producers take our religion seriously and respectfully.

Umm…no disrespect Mr. Zed..but this is America…we mock EVERYBODY. The fact that Nat and Devandra were inspired by your religion and customs to create something beautiful should be taken as a compliment not an insult. Seriously people..if you are going to live here and integrate into our society then you have to lighten up. Have these guys never watch Bill Mayer tear George Bush a new one?
