We’ve all known it for weeks, but the producers of the Footloose remake will make the official announcement Wednesday that Chance Crawford has nabbed the choice role of Ren McCormack.

The female lead is still up in the air, but Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes, Julianne Hough and that annoying Mily Cyrus are all being considered for the role of Ariel.

Listen up powers that be. I’m already a little pissed that you’re even remaking this movie and I am 100% positive that Chance is no Kevin Bacon. But if you put Hanna-Freakin-Montana in the movie you might just kill my achey-break-heart.

Zac Efron has pissed off the peeps at Paramount by pulling out of the new updated version of Footloose.

Zac is worried that playing Ren in this classic dancy-music movie will pigeon hole him into always being a song and dance man. I think that 3 High School Musicals and one Hairspray already did that…but whatever.

Efron told the studio last week that he did not want to do another musical at this point in his career, according to a senior member of the production team.The team member told TheWrap that Efron had script approval on the movie and used a rewrite on the screenplay as the loophole to get out of his contract: “People had been working on this project since last July — we were all shocked.”

Zac must not watch Entourage. If he did he would see that burning bridges in Hollywood takes you back to Queens…or San Luis Obispo in his case.

Blasphemy! Some dude named Kenny Ortega thinks he is going to remake a 1980′s masterpiece by letting that High School Musical kid Zac Efron step into the very big shoes of Mr. Kevin Bacon.

After High School Musical 3 opened with $42 million Paramount Pictures put the tween-cheese-fest on the fast track for production by next spring! Wunderkind Zac is getting a mid seven figure salary and script approval.

The soundtrack is set to change too, for which they will surely burn in the firey depths of hell.  The original Footloose spawned one of the biggest-selling soundtracks of all time and had us all thinking we could change our little small towns. *Sigh…..the tweens are taking over the world brothers and sisters……all I can say is Zaquisha better not flub up and ruin the good name of Ren McCormack. You better start practicing your factory dancin’ know pretty boy.
