Joaquin Phoenix “I’m Still Here” Documentary Opens September 10

Posted on: August 4, 2010 | Comments Off

Dying to know if Joaquin Phoenix is really bat-shit crazy and left the acting industry? Don’t care anymore? Yeah, me either. But the Casey Affleck directed documentary is almost upon us.

I’m Still Here is a portrayal of a tumultuous year in the life of internationally acclaimed actor Joaquin Phoenix filmed by his brother-in-law.
The doc follows the Oscar-nominee as he announces his retirement from a successful film career in the fall of 2008 and sets off to reinvent himself as a hip hop musician.

Sometimes funny, sometimes shocking, and always riveting, the film is a portrait of an artist at a crossroads. Defying expectations, it deftly explores notions of courage and creative reinvention, as well as the ramifications of a life spent in the public eye.

So did he really quit Hollywood or was it all a joke? Check your local theaters next month for the truth.

Posted on: May 20, 2009 | Comments Off

As if we need to see more of the dirty details of the incredibly gifted but hopelessly addicted Amy Winehouse’s life…some film maker that spent a few minutes with her in St. Lucia will be releasing a tell-all documentary about Amy later this year.

“Amy and her family will be the subject of a new documentary later this year from respected Israeli-American interviewer Daphne Barak whose subjects over the years have included celebrities, royalty, world leaders, and international personalities.

“The journalist spent time with Amy and her family recently on St. Lucia and in true honest to goodness Amy style the doc will be a truthful and revealing look at her complicated life.”

So instead of concentrating on getting better and getting back to being what the universe wanted her to be…she going to be doing this crap for  the next six months.

Britney Spears: Loneliness Led to Wrong Choices

Posted on: November 21, 2008 | Leave a Comment

At the rate MTV is letting bits and pieces of Britney: For The Record, we are going to have seen and heard the entire thing before it airs. We’ve seen two video clips already and yesterday they released a few more Britney quotes.

Britney’s 90-minute documentary will premiere on MTV November 30, just two days before the release of her new album, Circus. It starts off the day of the MTV Video Music Awards with Jamie Spears making velvetta cheese grits for Britney’s breakfast. Seriously. Velveeta.

Britney says she doesn’t like being catagorized as a comebck story, she feels like her loneliness after her divorce just simply caused her to lose her way and bring the wrong people into her life. She says she agreed to do the doc because she was wasn’t ‘being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in…There’s a lot that people dont’ know about me.”

As we’ve previously heard, Britney whines about her life being boring and without passion through the entire 90 minutes and says that her situation is “bad…I’m sad.” She misses the excitement of her pre-custodial life.

Poor Britney had to give up man after man taking advantage of her, going out without her panties, trading clothes with total strangers, staying awake for days at the time, crying in the middle of the street while hundred of paparazzi take your picture and driving around L.A. aimlessly for hours at a time.

Sneak Peek: Britney Spears Documentary “For The Record”

Posted on: October 9, 2008 | Leave a Comment

Britney Spears is all sober and clear-headed now and she wants to fill everyone in on that whole ‘crazy-shave-my-head-thing’ she was going through. Britney has teamed up with MTV for a 90 minute documentary about her comeback titled “For the Record”. In this sneak peek clip Britney a bit about why she decided to share…

“I sit there and I’ll look back and I’m like: I’m a smart person. What the hell was I thinking? I’ve been through a lot in the past two or three years, and there’s a lot that people don’t know,” she says. Sometimes I think I get kind of lonely because you don’t open the gate up that much, you know I mean?” she adds. “You’re guarded. You have to be that way, so I’m kind of stuck in this place and it’s like: How do you deal? And you just cope, and that’s what I do. I just cope with it, every day.”

See just how well Brit-Brit is coping when the doc airs on November 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV, two days before her long awaited CD Circus is released on December 2.
