Inception star, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, announced on Twitter Tuesday that his older brother “Burning Dan” has passed away. “My super hero brother @burningdan 1974-2010. Celebrate his life here ~ http://bit.ly/dBTMQ8 because he’s f**ing awesome,” Joseph wrote. Joseph wrote more on his multimedia website, where Dan was a partner:
A cause of death has not been given for his brother, called ‘Burning Dan’ because he was a fire-spinning artist who performed at the Burning Man Festival. Just in case you aren’t sure exactly what a ‘fire-spinning flow artist’ actually does..he’s a clip of Burning Dan performing.

Martin Short’s Wife Of 30 Years DiesPosted on: August 24, 2010 | Comments Off
Martin Short’s wife of 30 years and mother of their three children, has died. A rep for The Short’s has confirmed that Nancy Dolman has passed but no cause of death has been given. According to People, “Saturday morning, Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to an emergency call for medical help at the couple’s Pacific Palisades home, though no one was transported from the residence, said LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.” Nancy Dolman was born in Ontario Canada in 1952 and married fellow Canadian Short in 1980. The pair met while working together in a production of “Godspell.” Together they are parents to Katherine, 27, Oliver, 24, and Henry, 20. Sad news for the Short family.
Dennis Hopper Dead At 74Posted on: May 29, 2010 | Comments Off
This one really makes me sad. The coolness that was Dennis Hopper has passed away. You could argue that at 74 he lived a long, full life. But his last few months were drenched in sickness and drama. Hopper fell ill last September. He continued working almost to the very end, both on his cable TV series “Crash” and on a book showcasing his photography. But his final months were also consumed by a bitter divorce battle with his fifth wife, Victoria Duffy. If you are too young to really know much about Denny…I highly suggest you Netflix Easy Rider and just for fun that cheesy Keifer Sutherland movie Flashback and True Romance. A few of my Hopper favs. The hard-living screen star died at his home in the coastal Los Angeles suburb of Venice at 8:15 a.m. PDT (1515 GMT), surrounded by family and friends, the friend, Alex Hitz, told Reuters. In a wildly varied career spanning more than 50 years, Hopper appeared alongside his mentor James Dean in “Rebel Without a Cause” and “Giant” in the 1950s and played maniacs in such films as “Apocalypse Now,” “Blue Velvet” and “Speed.” He received two Oscar nominations — for writing “Easy Rider” (with co-star Peter Fonda and Terry Southern), and for a rare heartwarming turn as an alcoholic high-school basketball coach in the 1986 drama “Hoosiers.” “Easy Rider,” regarded is one of the greatest films of American cinema, helped usher in a new era in which the old Hollywood guard was forced to cede power to young filmmakers such as Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Scorsese.
Gary Coleman – Celebrity Death # 3 This WeekPosted on: May 29, 2010 | Comments Off
It always happens in threes. First Paul Gray, bassist for Slipknot died of an overdose. Then Brittany Murphy’s husband Simon Monjack was found dead, possibly by accidental prescription drug overdose and today the world lost child star / grown up mess Gary Coleman. Gary Coleman, the child star of the smash 1970s TV sitcom “Diff’rent Strokes” whose later career was marred by medical and legal problems, has died after suffering an intercranial hemorrhage. He was 42. Utah Valley Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Janet Frank said life support was terminated and Coleman died at 12:05 p.m. MDT. Coleman, with his sparkling eyes and perfect comic timing, became a star after “Diff’rent Strokes” debuted in 1978. He played the younger brother in a pair of African-American siblings adopted by a wealthy white man. RIP Gary.
Dixie Carter Dies At Age 70Posted on: April 11, 2010 | Comments Off
Sad news for us Southern girls. Dixie Carter, best known for her perfect portrayal of a sassy, old-school Southern chick on the television show Designing Women, has passed away at the grand old age of 70. No word on what she died from. Her hubby Hal Holbrook told “Entertainment Tonight, “This has been a terrible blow to our family … We would appreciate everyone understanding that this is a private family tragedy. Thank you.” Carter played Julia Sugarbaker on “Designing Women” from 1986-1993. She earned an Emmy nomination in 2007 for her guest stint on Desperate Housewives. RIP Dixie.
