Martin Short’s Wife Of 30 Years DiesPosted on: August 24, 2010
Martin Short’s wife of 30 years and mother of their three children, has died. A rep for The Short’s has confirmed that Nancy Dolman has passed but no cause of death has been given. According to People, “Saturday morning, Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to an emergency call for medical help at the couple’s Pacific Palisades home, though no one was transported from the residence, said LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.” Nancy Dolman was born in Ontario Canada in 1952 and married fellow Canadian Short in 1980. The pair met while working together in a production of “Godspell.” Together they are parents to Katherine, 27, Oliver, 24, and Henry, 20. Sad news for the Short family. Share This:
Dennis Hopper Dead At 74Posted on: May 29, 2010
This one really makes me sad. The coolness that was Dennis Hopper has passed away. You could argue that at 74 he lived a long, full life. But his last few months were drenched in sickness and drama. Hopper fell ill last September. He continued working almost to the very end, both on his cable TV series “Crash” and on a book showcasing his photography. But his final months were also consumed by a bitter divorce battle with his fifth wife, Victoria Duffy. If you are too young to really know much about Denny…I highly suggest you Netflix Easy Rider and just for fun that cheesy Keifer Sutherland movie Flashback and True Romance. A few of my Hopper favs. The hard-living screen star died at his home in the coastal Los Angeles suburb of Venice at 8:15 a.m. PDT (1515 GMT), surrounded by family and friends, the friend, Alex Hitz, told Reuters. In a wildly varied career spanning more than 50 years, Hopper appeared alongside his mentor James Dean in “Rebel Without a Cause” and “Giant” in the 1950s and played maniacs in such films as “Apocalypse Now,” “Blue Velvet” and “Speed.” He received two Oscar nominations — for writing “Easy Rider” (with co-star Peter Fonda and Terry Southern), and for a rare heartwarming turn as an alcoholic high-school basketball coach in the 1986 drama “Hoosiers.” “Easy Rider,” regarded is one of the greatest films of American cinema, helped usher in a new era in which the old Hollywood guard was forced to cede power to young filmmakers such as Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Scorsese. Gary Coleman – Celebrity Death # 3 This WeekPosted on: May 29, 2010
It always happens in threes. First Paul Gray, bassist for Slipknot died of an overdose. Then Brittany Murphy’s husband Simon Monjack was found dead, possibly by accidental prescription drug overdose and today the world lost child star / grown up mess Gary Coleman. Gary Coleman, the child star of the smash 1970s TV sitcom “Diff’rent Strokes” whose later career was marred by medical and legal problems, has died after suffering an intercranial hemorrhage. He was 42. Utah Valley Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Janet Frank said life support was terminated and Coleman died at 12:05 p.m. MDT. Coleman, with his sparkling eyes and perfect comic timing, became a star after “Diff’rent Strokes” debuted in 1978. He played the younger brother in a pair of African-American siblings adopted by a wealthy white man. RIP Gary. Share This:
Paul Gray, Bassist From Slipknot, Dead At 38Posted on: May 24, 2010
I”m not a Slipknot fan and I didn’t even know what this guys name was before today, but it’s sad when a 38 year dies. Even this creepy m-f-er. That’s so freakin’ young! In the grand scheme. That makes celebrity #2 after Simon Monjak yesterday….the clock is ticking. Celebs always die in three’s. Who’s next kids? Paul Gray, the bassist from the band Slipknot, was found dead in a hotel in Iowa this morning … this according to local police. Share This:
Brittany Murphy’s Husband Simon Monjack Found DeadPosted on: May 24, 2010
Just five months after Brittany Murphy’s untimely death, her husband Simon Monjack was found dead at his L.A. home late Sunday. Firefighters responding to an emergency call found British screenwriter Simon Monjack dead at the Hollywood Hills residence, police spokesman Sgt. Louie Lozano said. The preliminary cause of the 39-year-old Monjack’s death is natural causes, he told The Associated Press. “We concluded there no signs of foul play or any criminal activity involved,” said Sgt. Alex Ortiz, another police spokesman. It’s always natural causes isn’t it? More details as they emerge…. Maybe he really loved her and pined himself to death like a dog or an elderly person. Grandparents always seem to pass away within months of each other too. Share This:
