I had no idea that Brett Michaels had kids…but he does. And they look like trouble.

I’m so used to seeing him on VH1 sticking his tongue down some strippers throat that I never thought of him as anything other than a old, horny rock-star ready to cash in with a reality show. But it sounds like he is really ‘dad’ …when he gets the chance that is.

The most important thing I’ve taught them is that I love them,” Michaels, 47, says of his daughters Raine, 9 ½, and Jorja, 4 ½. “I may not be there every day of their life, but I call them three [or] four times a day.”

Michaels and the girls’ mother, Kristi Gibson, whom he dated off and on for more than 10 years, share custody of the kids. “It’s a work in progress,” he says of their relationship.

Though currently on a solo tour—and appearing on NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice—Michaels comes home to Arizona, where Kristi lives with their kids, as often as possible.

“All my negotiating skills I’ve learned in recent times [come] from my daughters,” he jokes about the girls, who styled themselves for the PEOPLE photo shoot. “That was all them.”

This certainly gives Denise Richards something to worry about other than her ailing career. Her two cute little girls were involved in a four car smash-up with their nanny this week. The girls are ok..but you just know that Charlie Sheen is gonna blame this on Denise.

Law enforcement sources tell us Sam and Lola Rose Sheen, 4 and 3, were riding in an SUV driven by a nanny on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, when a Honda made a crazy left turn in front of them, cutting them off. Four cars were involved in the accident, and only the driver of the Honda was injured.
