I think American Idol’s days are numbered. No one watches it anymore, not even with this seasons new judges. It’s pretty much run it’s course and that’s why Simon Cowell bailed. He is alot of things, but not stupid. Plus, NBC is gearing up for a new artist search talent show with a new, fresher format and newer much fresher and hip judges.

Christina Aguilera was officially announced as the third judge on NBC’s “The Voice,” their new singing competition reality show meant to rival Fox’s “American Idol”. She joins Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine of Maroon 5, potentially giving the new upstart a more popular judging panel. In fact, they won’t only judge, but they’ll coach the contestants, too.

The show is to be produced by Mark Burnett and John de Mol, who created “The Voice of Holland,” the Dutch television obsession that the show will be based on. Carson Daly is set to host.

In a statement, Christina said: “I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it. To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms.mI am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to ‘The Voice’.”

So I guess this sort of cancels out the public drunkeness arrest and also kills any hope of getting this hot mess into rehab anytime soon.

Her people tried to keep Christina Aguilera’s mug shot away from the tabloids to no avail.

Looking bloated and tired Xtina’s muggy isn’t the worst celeb mugshot we’ve ever seen but it ain’t pretty.

It’s taken years but booze hound Christina Aguilera was finally arrested for being drunk! Christina and her boyfriend were pulled over at around 2:45am this morning for driving erratically. Matthew Rutler was arrested for DUI and Xtina was booked for public intoxication.

Cops say the deputies determined Aguilera was also “extremely intoxicated” … and since she was unable to care for herself, Aguilera was taken into custody.  Aguilera was booked for public intoxication — and according to the booking sheet, she was listed at 5’2″ and 100 lbs.

She’s only clocking in at 100lbs so that bloated look she has lately really is from the booze.

I don’t usually do these big picture posts during or after awards shows but there was just much FAIL at this years Grammy Awards that I had to share.

Before I make my snarky comments on almost everyone ….let me just say that Jennifer Hudson is like WOW! Weight Watchers hit a gold mine with her. And also..Kelly Osbourne looked fab. Everyone else…not so much.

Rihanna looks good to be as sick as they she is..although that dress looks like a bunch a pipecleaners wrapped around her. Kathy Griffin is busted up and needs to give it up. Margaret Cho looks good but she is just a bitch so she gets a thumbs down. Speaking of bitches. Lea Michele anyone? Could she try any harder?

John Mayer was trying to go incognito as Johnny Depp. Paul Wall and that Gulianna chick are way too skinny. When is someone going to get that girl to admit she has a raging ED? Selma Blair and Jewel are both knocked up and look pretty. Ciara was a major fail. So was Snooki.

Barry Manilow is old. So was Bob Dylan! That was sad actually.

The young ones: Selena Gomez looked classy and pretty..Miley Cyrus not so much. Kim Kardashian and Christina Aguilera curvy and working it. Although I have no idea why Kim was invited.

Seal and Heidi Klum look sexy and happy. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony look miserable. Katie Perry and Russell Brand were cute but the angel dress? FAIL!

Krystal Bowersox looked good, so did Eva Longoria and the Will Smith Family, Paz Vega and Florence Welch as always looked oddly pretty.

It is the Grammy’s and people always dress a bit funkier…but I don’t know why some of these chick were trying to out-weird Gaga. It just ain’t gonna happen.

Give the girl a break! Like all your folks hatin’ today (Kathie Lee Gifford on The Today Show) have never messed up a live performance.

Christina Aguilera was singing her little puffy heart out during the national anthem at last night’s Super Bowl. She got so caught up in the moment that she flubbed some lyrics and today everyone is tearing her a new one.

Christina Aguilera majorly botched the national anthem: according to the AP, instead of singing “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming,” she sang “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming.”

In a statement announcing her singing assignment on January 24th, Aguilera said, “I have been performing the anthem since I was seven years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true.”
