Paris Hilton Plays Chatroulette

The latest social networking phenomenon to hit the Internet – ChatRoulette – has officially entered celebrity culture.

The service allows strangers to chat randomly through web cams. If you don’t like your current video chat partner, you can move to the next with a click. A bare-bones, random and gleefully invasive site that people are blowing up right now was created by a 17 year-old Russian boy. The site has literally taken over the world in  just a few days.

I’ve heard rumors that celebrities are doing it for giggles, but I never had any confirmation on just who was sitting at their laptop randomly talking to strangers all over the world. Until now. Paris Hilton Twittered about it Sunday and now you expect your kids/husbands/boyfriends to be addicted to it within a few weeks.

“I’m on www.ChatRoulette.com right now with @Dejdia So funny!” the heiress tweets.

Could be a fleeting fad…or could be the next Twitter.
