It’s not known if Ashlee Simpson was seeing Craig Owens before she filed for divorce from Pete Wentz, but she is sure getting cozy with him now.

I’m all for the natural progression of things. Ashlee is going to have a rebound guy…but it’s a little bit shady to pick one of the few guys that your ex actually likes and respects. Well..did like and respect. Ashlee’s new squeeze is a musician..,.natch…and it actually signed on to Pete’s label.

In January 2010, Pete told MTV News that Craig Owens, who is signed to Wentz’s Decaydance label, was his favorite new artist. It was even rumored that Craig might join Fall Out Boy, but of course, that never happened.

It’s possible that Ashlee is grabbing this guy because he is exactly what she is used to. Craig suffers from the same bipolar and depression disorder that Pete does.

Everyone is trying to figure out what really caused Ashlee Simpson to leave her husband of three years Pete Wentz.

For some reason most people, myself included, actually liked this celebrity couple so the seemingly sudden split is just confusing to us all.

Divorce is always hardest on the kids. And the  celebrity gossip junkies.

The big news this morning, probably put out there by Papa Joe, is that Pete Wentz BEGGED on his little emo-hipster hands and knees for Ashlee Simpson not to divorce him.

On the other hand…TMZ posted some pictures of Pete out having a great time in Dallas over the weekend.

Who knows? One thing if for sure. Papa Joe has his hand in the spin on this split so anything that comes out is  not going to surprise me.

One of my favorite celebrity couples has split. Or so says TMZ.

Their sources say that Ashlee Simpson has filed for divorce from her baby daddy and hubby of two years Pete Wentz. The same source says there is no cheating involved and the reason for the split is simply because Ashlee can’t handle Pete’s erratic behavior.

“Erratic behavior” of a celeb often means drug use, but Pete has always been open about his depression and bi-polar issues so it could just be that she finds it to difficult to deal with his highs and lows.

Either way it sucks. I really liked them.

UPDATE: I just found out that Ashlee had no pre-nup agreement with Pete and since her career is non-existent she is most likely using the bi-polar / erratic behavior angle to get more moolah. In the court papers she asked for custody of Bronx, child support and spousal support.

I’m afraid this is going to get ugly because Pete doesn’t seem the type to let his kid be taken away. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a picture of Ashlee out with Bronx but pics of Pete and the boy pop up all the time.

Well, at least Papa Joe has his little girl back. Beware..bad movies and a country album are on the way!
