Kid Rock is just keeping it real, ya’ll. He recently slammed iconic Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler for taking a cheesy job at American Idol.

Kid Rock told Entertainment Weekly: “I think it’s the stupidest thing he’s ever done in his life. He’s a sacred American institution of rock and roll, and he just threw it all out the window. Just stomped on it and set it on fire. I think whoever’s advising him… we should bring back the guillotine, or whatever they call that thing. And if it was himself, he needs some serious counselling. I love him to death, but I gotta speak the truth.”

Speak it brotha! Although I do seriously doubt taking this job is the stupidest thing Stevie has ever done.

Yeah, she’s a high maintenance diva. But American Idol still wants her.
Sources close to the deal say that Jennifer Lopez is still in the process of negotiating her contract and so far things look good.

“Jennifer isn’t being a diva,” one source confirmed, “we’re just trying to pan out the details,”

Same story with Steven Tyler. Just like J.Lo, it’s all about the details of the contract at this point.

And you better believe that Fox loves the  media speculation surrounding the show. The J.Lo. diva rumors do nothing but boost ratings and bring more attention to the failing show.

Ellen DeGeneres is leaving “American Idol” after one season as a judge for the hit Fox TV singing contest. Surprised? Not so much. I don’t think that was really a good fit for her.

So with Ellen not returning for the 10th season, there are now two vacancies on its judging panel. Fox has yet to announce a replacement for Simon Cowell, although names like Brett Michaels, Chris Isaack, Jessica Simpson and Courtney Love are being thrown around.

Let’s hope Fox takes this opportunity to revamp the judges panel ….for the better this time.

I vote for Courtney Love and Brett Michaels. They would totally offset all the “dawgs” coming from the other end of the table.

I can’t believe how far Lady Gaga has come over the past year. Just two American Idol seasons ago she performed her first single Just Dance on the show, probably for free. This time they are giving her a reported $250,000 and letting her phone in a pre-recorded performance of Bad Romance and Alejandro.

“Lady Gaga will make some jaws hit the ground as she wears a black thong with a revealing black fishnet bodysuit,” an eyewitness of the performance said. “It’s a typical provocative costume, but it’s a little shocking.”

The insider says we can expect a black fishnet bodysuit with black sequined accents and blood to be involved. “After looking at her costume, stage and production, it is easy to conclude a good chunk of change was spent on her performance,” the source said.

I don’t even watch American Idol but when I saw this clip of Andrew Garcia rocking a Paula Abdul song ala’ Jason Mraz..I was blown away. Much like the judges.

Garcia, a father hoping to make a better life for his child, took the stage on the first night of the infamous Hollywood Week on ‘American Idol’ and sang a rendition of ‘Straight Up.’ It was a risky choice, considering Paula Abdul, who made the tune famous, had left the show. But Garcia, with guitar in hand, nailed his toned-down version.

“That was genius,” Kara DioGuardi told Garcia. “Paula would be screaming and yelling,” she added.
