The doctors that are treating Lindsay Lohan in rehab have announced that Lindsay Lohan is not a street drug addict….they claim she was “misdiagnosed” with ADD and the medication she was taking it to control it made her crazy.

Dr. Joe Haraszti, a prominent L.A. addiction specialist, says  that all those times Lindsay was acting a fool was because she was strung out on Adderall. “It can experience similar effects as people who use cocaine or methamphetamine.”

According to Dr. Haraszti, people who “unnecessarily take Adderall can display manic symptoms and often do things like driving around until all hours of the morning … smoking heavily … tweeting … and texting all night long.” The doc adds, “They can become very impulsive.”

This is all makes perfect sense and we all know Adderall is a prescription drug that most insiders claim celebrities have used for appetite control and weight loss.

Even though Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to undergo weekly random drug tests and wear that super cool alcohol monitoring bracelet, it sounds like it’s all going to be for nothing.

Under the rules of the drug testing program, Lilo can still take medications provided by a doctor. Which means that she can continue abusing the Adderall (a stimulant that treats ADHD) and the Ambien that friends say are her real problem.

Lindsay will check in with the L.A. County Probation Department on Thursday and provide the case worker and the court with proof of prescriptions.  At that point, any prescription that shows up in Lindsay’s system during random drug testing will not get her in trouble with the judge.

But here’s the issue.  Friends of Lindsay … and her father Michael … tell TMZ the scripts are a big source of Lindsay’s problem.

Morgan Mayhem’s new fave things, prescription drugs, are the most dangerous things to abuse. Why? Well, (a) they’re easy to get and keep getting, as long as you get that first prescription, and (b) abusers don’t exactly consider themselves to be abusing drugs in the naughty sense of the D-word, since they got ‘em straight from a doctor. A medical “professional” gave them to me, so it must be OK! Right?

So wrong. Morg’s constantly up on Adderall, among other happy pills. Some wouldn’t be surprised that the unfocused honey’s got ADD, but this is strictly for recreational use as opposed to anything M2 actually needs—gives her a much-mellower high as opposed to an anxious tick like blow, and she can actually get some work done! Girl can actually fake being sober a lot better than she could before, which only encourages her to keep pill-popping like mad. But deep down she must know something’s not right, since she still tries to hide her habit from everyone around her.
