Hopefully all you kids know that playing the video game “Rock Band” will not teach you how to play a musical instrument…but for those of you who are holding out hope that you’ll be rippin’ like Hendrix in a few weeks…listen up.

One of the rock stars who help create the game has admitted that he sucks at it, so there is absolutely no correlation between playing the game and rocking out for real. Sting, the great tantric one, insists that playing the artificial instruments is no true measure of one’s musical ability.

Sting reveals, “I contributed to it. They used a few of my songs. It’s good for kids to get into music, but I do wonder if playing the game actually makes you want to play a real guitar. I don’t know if it correlates.
“I’ve tried it, and I can’t do it.”
