I’m still unsure why A-lister James Franco is doing it, but Friday began his “lengthy arch” on General Hospital, in which he plays a vagrant performance artist named Franco who visits Port Charles to exhibit his work.

Here’s a clip from Franco’s first ‘GH’ appearance in which he lurks in the shadows while watching the local mobsters shoot each other.

I hear JF’s decision to go slummin’ on the soaps is for “his art”. Whatever that means. At the very least maybe he’ll raise the bar for soap opera acting.
