So much for all that hoopla last year to force the fashion industry into accepting heavier runway models. It seemed there might be a slight change in the industry standard but once the story died (along with a few young girls) so did the whole concept.

This year we are right back to where we started…or maybe even a few steps back.

“The models this year are skinnier than ever,” noted one fashionista. Another Fashion Week insider said, “Show producers are force-feeding models nuts and orange juice to keep their blood-sugar levels up. And at Jeffrey Chow‘s first collection for the Poleci presentation Saturday night, one girl actually passed out. Producers had to put cold Coca-Cola cans on her head and feed her fruit to bring her back.”

A bit of info on the designer who hires emaciated models: A graduate of London’s Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design, Jeffrey Chow was appointed Head Designer for Poleci in May 2009. Previewing his first collection with the Spring 2010 pre-collection, Chow combined abstract and geometric prints infusing fresh colors to create organic and modern silhouettes
