Nike Plans A Signature Shoe For NBA Sensation Jeremy LinPosted On: February 16, 2012
Even if you aren’t a NBA fan you’ve heard about Jeremy Lin this week. This guy is blowing up everywhere. Everybody loves this guy. He played for Harvard…got cut from two NBA teams and now he is killing it with the Knicks. The Linsanity has led to a lucrative shoe deal for this kid. That’s actually a bigger deal that it sounds like. I’ve recently learned about the money spent in collecting sneakers and it’s shocking…but interesting. The reverence some of these collectors put on vintage Air Jordans etc, is actually very cool. It’s treated more as sports memorabilia than a shoe collection. Anyway…this kid is about to get paid. According to Counter Kicks, Nike has created a Jeremy Lin “Linsanity” edition Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 shoe. Lin is sponsored by Nike and has been wearing their shoes this year. He laces up black and white sneakers when his team is on the road, and a white and blue version of the shoe at home. The Knicks have won seven straight games since Lin began playing significant minutes and six in a row with him as a starter. He had a career-high 13 assists on Wednesday night and a buzzer beating three pointer to sink the Raptors on Tuesday. Linsanity has spread so much that even the stock of MSG — the company that owns the Knicks — has hit a record high during Lin’s run as the team’s point guard. Share This:
