In the ‘going through the motions to save public face’ file, the LA Sheriff’s Department has outdone itself. Nicole Richie served a total of 82 minutes of a four day sentence for her DUI charge on Thursday. Accompanied by her attorney and her boyfriend Joel Madden, Nicole turned herself in to the Los Angeles Country Sheriff’s Department to serve her time.

She was checked in at 3:15pm and released at 4:37pm due to crowding. Why even bother?

Jail documents list the four months pregnant Nicole at being 5’1” and weighing a slight 105 pounds.
