Sad news for those of us who remember MTV from back in the day when they played videos. Back in the mid-80′s Ken Ober hosted the MTV game show “Remote Control” which was like, so totally radical. So I realize that most of you could care less about an 80′s game show host passing away, but I really dug that show and always wanted to be a contestant and sit in one of those big lazy-boys…so this news is sad and newsworthy to me so just deal.
“His body was discovered in his home on Sunday. The last person to have spoken to him was on Saturday morning. No foul play is suspected, no suicide, it looks like natural causes, just no one knows the exact cause yet.”
Ober’s agent, Mark Measures, confirmed the comedian’s passing but could provide no information as to the cause of his death. Ober’s manager, Lee Kernis, said the comedian was found dead on Sunday, a day after he complained to a friend about a headache and flu-like symptoms.
The show helped launch the careers of Adam Sandler, Denis Leary and Colin Quinn, who made various appearances on the show, acting out sketches that functioned as quiz questions.
