Michael Stipe is nothing if not a man of the people. The R.E.M. frontman teamed up with Lacoste to design an overpriced, hipster polo shirt that will be worn by only the truly pretentious.

On the multi-colored printed polo, Stipe “created a monumental two tone photographic image depicting a crowd at a stadium concert from the perspective of a performer on the stage.”

Lacoste will only be manufacturing 12, 000 of these hot shirts, and the price tag is nearly that high. If you’ve got an extra $300 and you want to look like a douche, then check out your local Lacoste store this month. Because that’s what we need to fix our messed up economy Michael Stipe.
