Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s ritzy London pub could lose its liquor license for overcharging tourists and non-regulars. The Punchbowl seems to have a shady history going way back. Madge and Guy bought the place from the son of a famous local mobster.

The two-tier pricing system is one of several alleged breaches at the Punch Bowl being investigated by local authorities. Customers apparently complained there were no prices on display - which is a legal requirement. It has also been alleged that staff offer reduced rates to locals. And there is no display of the licensee above the door. Customers said the difference was as much as 40p a pint.

I was all ready to hate Madonna even more about this, until I read that no one cared until the hipster locals started having to pay the tourist price. The pub is frequented by Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Barbra Streisand and you don’t hear them complaining. Just pay your 40p dudes and get over it. Madge has more important things to worry about.
