Kirsten Dunst has decided to come clean about her trip to rehab a few months ago. Her reason for this public statement is that she is tired of lies being printed about her in the tabloid causing her family and friends to feel the need to defend her.

She said, “I didn’t go to Cirque Lodge for alcohol abuse or drug abuse. I went there for depression. It was a good six months before I decided to go away. I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself. I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too. But I didn’t know where to go. My doctor recommended Cirque Lodge.”

Kirsten says depression is ‘serious and something that should not be gossiped about’. Sorry chicka…you signed on for this years ago. Dunsty is currently shooting her next movie, All Good Things, on New York’s Upper West Side. Just for the record, we don’t believe depression was the reason homegirl was in rehab.
