John Mayer and Jessica Simpson Go Public

When I first heard this story I thought for sure it was another PR stunt from Joe Simpson. Papa Joe is notorious for spreading rumors about his daughters for free publicity. But as the days go by, it appears the story might actually be true. Jessica Simpson and John Mayer (the much reported but never confirmed couple) were seen making out at the New Years Eve party at Hudson Hotel. People magazine says the couple didn’t even arrive at the party until after 2am, stayed only 40 minutes then took off to go to Stereo nightclub.
People also reports the couple actually spent the entire weekend together, hitting lots of hip spots in NY. They were spotted having dinner Friday at The Mercer Kitchen, shopping at Barneys and eating at Dos Camino’s in SoHo on Saturday and ending the weekend at the Comedy Cellar. As you kids know, this is one celebrity hook-up that just sticks in my craw. John is much too talented, funny and smart to get Simpson cooties all over him. I’m going to continue to believe this is all a big set up orchestrated by Papa Joe. Say it ain’t so John, say it ain’t so.
