Joe Simpson is being sued by the fitness video company for blocking the release of a work-out DVD filmed by his daughter in 2005. Jessica Simpson signed a multi-million dollar contract with and starred in a Speedfit video production just before landing the role as Daisy Duke in the film version of The Dukes of Hazzard.

Papa Joe had Jess film the DVD during a lull in her career, but since ‘Dukes’ skyrocketed (insert your own eye-roll here) her to fame he decided the release of the DVD would be a step back for her. The owner of Speedfit says that blocking the release of the work-out is hurting the public (and his pockets).

“They are hurting millions of fat people in America! I believe that very strongly — they held the video for years!”
