Jessica Simpson tells Elle magazine that seeing ex-husband Nick Lachey out and about with hotties like Kristin Cavallari after their split was hard. “Oh, it hurt me. Two or three weeks later? Yeah, I’d say it kind of hurt me.”

Jessica says she learned a valuable lesson about revealing too much of her private life from the MTV reality show that made her famous, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. Coming across as a warning to the media to backoff from her new relationship with John Mayer; she says, “I let people in on who I am how I react to my husband. That’s a big deal. Celebrities don’t do that. So I think they (the media) brought me down just because I stopped talking and because I have not spoken - and will not speak - about my divorce. And I think people feel like I owe them my reality right now.”

Jessica also says that Nick is still very much a part of her life and any new man is going to have to understand that. I just don’t see John and Nick hanging out and having beers. Do you?
