Heath Ledger To Play The Joker

The much sought after role of The Joker in the Batman Begins sequel has been offered to Australian actor, Heath Ledger. Ledger is the latest in a long line of respected actors that have been linked to the role. Robin Williams was reportedly desperate to land the part, British actor Paul Bettany was said to be ‘in talks’ and Steve Buscemi was rumored to be on the short list.
The film is due to be released in 2008 and if Ledger accepts the role he will join Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman, who are all reprising their roles.
