Seth Rogan was turned down by HBO a few years ago for a show similiar to their hit Sunday night comedy, Entourage. Rogan and Knocked-Up co-star Jason Segal pitched the network a show about a pack of guys that smoked weed and played video games all day, but really wanted to act and make movies. Since Mark Wahlberg’s show has become such a huge success, Seth is still pissed off at the rejection and doesn’t understand why the powers that be at HBO picked Marky-Marks show over his. Maybe it’s because Seth didn’t come with his own Funky Bunch.
“I just remember feeling really bitter. We thought the stuff we were writing was funny… and it just seemed crazy that no one else liked it. You start to question your own sanity. Like, ‘Our HBO pilot isn’t funny, but Entourage is?’”
