Sex toy retailers are credited George Clooney for a recent boost in sales of adult toys, but not for the reason you think. While George is sexy enough to have that effect on women (and men) it was his role as a sex-obsessed character in the new Coen brothers comedy Burn After Reading that caused the sales spike.

Sex toy retailers have noticed a huge leap in sales since George’s character has been seen carrying around “saucy items” on the big screen for an ninety minutes. “Small mentions of adult products in mainstream media can have an outsized effect on sales.”
