Courtney Love will soon be shedding more than weight when she puts Kurt Cobain’s personal effects up for auction. Courtney says having Kurt’s stuff around is like living in a mausoleum.

Courtney plans on donating “a bunch” of the proceeds to charity and thinks this decision is a positive one for her 15 year old daughter, Frances Bean.

 “My daughter doesn’t need to inherit a giant bag full of flannel shirts. A sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to Smells Like Teen Spirit – that’s what my daughter gets.”

 I have to say I agree with Court on this one, not a great legacy to leave to your child.  If I can preach from my high horse for a minute, I think it’s high time she purge her home of old demons and make some positive changes for herself and her daughter.
