We reported this weeks ago, and Us Weekly has just confirmed it: Nicole Richie is twelve weeks pregnant and mama-to-be and baby are said to be doing fine. But that’s not the only good news for Nicole, sources tell Us Weekly that Nicole’s boyfriend, Joel Madden, is delighted with the pregnancy and has been out several times shopping for engagment rings.

The only dark shadow over this happy time in Nicole’s life is her upcoming court date for her second DUI that might land her in jail ala Paris Hilton. We’ve heard some rumblings that Nicole may have gotten pregnant in an attempt to keep herself out of jail, but we are going to choose to believe that is just not true. Surely there is no one that conniving in LA, is there?
