The California Highway Patrol has recommended that singer Brandy be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in an automobile accident that killed a woman last month. The accident happened on December 30th while Brandy was driving her Land Rover on Interstate 405 when struck the back of a Honda driven by Awatef Aboudihaj. Aboudihaj’s car then hit another vehicle, slid sideways into the center divider and was then hit by yet another car. Aboudihaj, a LA waitress, died at the hospital from blunt force injuries.
Brandy has publicly expressed condolences to the victim’s family and also has said that she wasn’t under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash. If Brandy is charged she could face up to the maximum sentence of one year in county jail and a $1,000 fine.
