The Daily Mail is reporting that Charlize Theron & Stuart Townsend have secretly split after a 9 year relationship.

Charlize has stopped wearing the commitment ring that Stuart gave her following her Mexican holiday after Christmas.  Charlize had said about the ring “Stuart gave it to me as a sign of our commitment to each other. I never take it off.”

A friend of the actress said last night: “Stuart is gutted but Charlize said that she realised during the Mexican holiday that the relationship was over.”  They had become more like brother and sister than lovers. It was she who ended it.”

Sad news, they were a beautiful couple. You have to wonder if the split had something to do with the fact that Charlize is a A-lister who can carry a movie and Stuart just can’t seem to hold a job.
