I’m hoping these pictures are misleading…but really? Why would he be holding this chicks hand?

The reformed lothario, 36 , is on set in Miami where he’s filming new movie Rock of Ages, and the fair haired maiden is clearly a crew member. Russell is given to such displays of warm affectionate towards people that such tender gestures largely go unnoticed.

But the fact that the pair of them were holding in hands today in a manner normally reserved for romantic couples is striking. It comes hot on the heels of news that Brand’s wife of eight months, pop sensation Katy Perry, is extending her tour well into November.

Russell Brand’s Arthur is not doing nearly as well as HOP at the theaters. I’m a little surprised too. Russ can certainly play a lovable drunk and well..Helen Mirren should be enough to draw the numbers.

Since it’s pretty much bombed in the Staes the powers that be called in the big guns at the London premiere today and had Katy Perry make a red carpet appearance. Big boobs never hurts.

And how cool is she???? LOVE LOVE LOVE the necklace.

And the mainstreaming of ex-junkie/ex-sex addict Russell Brand continues.

Russ told Conan last night that he is ‘this close’ to finalizing a deal to join  the cast of Rock of Ages…already starring Tom Cruise. Can’t get more mainstream than that in the US.

As has long been speculated, Brand is in talks to join the big screen adaptation of the Broadway hit “Rock of Ages,” though his would-be part is as of yet unknown. The play — and now film — is about a rock bar in late 80′s Los Angeles, run by a washed up rocker. He puts on a concert with current star Stacee Jax, while navigating a relationship with a new girl in town.

He’d join what is already a superstar cast: Tom Cruise has signed on to play megastar Stacee Jaxx, while Alec Baldwin will play Dennis Dupree, the washed up rocker and club owner. Julianne Hough will take on the leading lady role, the aspiring singer new to LA, while Mary J. Blige will also be in the film. Amy Adams is in talks, as of two weeks ago, to play a journalist who falls for Jaxx.

Great cast. Add to that Katy Perry playing a stripper and we’ve got a hit kids!
