You think news in the celebrity gossip world spreads fast? The jocks have us beat by a long shot. Yesterday Rob Lowe innocently caused a huge Twitter hurricane that ended up with the owners of  the Colts tweeting a crude remark about the actor making porn.

I know, right? Sports guys get CRAAAZY. That’s where the word FAN came from. FANATICS.

The frenzy began early Wednesday afternoon when Lowe, who became famous in Wayne’s World, The West Wing and other movies and TV shows, posted this tweet: (um..excuse me…he actually became famous for The Outsiders, St. Elmo’s Fire…etc…oh and also that hotel incident)

Hearing my fave, #18 Peyton Manning will not return to #NFL. Wow. #Colts

He followed that up by trying to compare notes with respected — and real – NFL reporter Rich Eisenwith this tweet:

Lowe couldn’t leave it alone, posting again on the topic for the third time in 10 minutes:

but three hours after Lowe’s flurry of tweets, the Colts owner posted this message attempting to make light of the situation:

My sources tell me Rob will star in an epic remake of “Deep Throat” with aging porn stars and 4 finger circus clowns!

Rob Lowe claims that a former employee is falsely accusing him of ‘inappropriate conduct’ because he didn’t pay her the $1.5 million in hush money she asked for.

“My family is devastated at this betrayal. This woman worked in our home and traveled with us off and on for seven years, without complaint.” The woman quit “several weeks ago,” he writes, and now “will accuse us both of a vicious laundry list of false terribles” since the $1.5 million payment was not made. He adds, “No one intimidates my family… We will defend ourselves with vigor and without fear.”

In his defense the pretty boy published some text messages from his accuser and it does sound like there were no problems when she left

“I have nothing bad 2 say about your family and really am thankful for what you guys have done for me over the years,” she allegedly wrote. “I did not leave out of spite or anger, it was just time for my heart to let go… It had nothing to do with you or rob either, this was me.”

“Thank you so much sheryl and I really am sorry. Please tell the kids it had nothing 2 do w them, they are absolutely amazing boys. It had nothing to do with you or rob either, this was me. I love you guys. Ps tell rob I’m really sorry as well”
