Miley Cyrus just won’t shut the freak up about why she deleted her Twitter account. For those of you, who like me, couldn’t care less about the Cyrus-spawn and just what is going on with her…apparently her new boyfriend used his incredible teenage influence and talked Miley into giving up her massive Twitter-addiction.
“I had to say goodbye, and this little rap is to tell my fans why,” she says.
On Thursday, she posted one of her final Twitter messages, saying that her new beau, Last Song costar Liam Hemsworth, disapproved of the site.
“Liam doesn’t have a Twitter and he wants me to delete mine with good reason,” she Twittered.
Chris Martin just lost some major street cred in my book. Although he’s never met Miley Cyrus, the Coldplay frontman says he’s a big fan, watches her show and would even consider letting Hannah Montana open for his band.
“I like Miley Cyrus… I like the TV show.” And Martin insists he’d even consider supporting Cyrus at a concert for what would be one of the oddest gigs ever.
He adds, “I’d do it. Anyone we like or respect, no matter how different they may be, we would play with. She’s doing something quite different… I just think she seems to have a sweet character”
Obviously he hasn’t seen her teenage attempt at sexy all over MySpace. Maybe I shouldn’t be so hard on Miley. My Cyrus-hate isn’t really even about Miley and her MySpace nonsense. I still haven’t forgiven her father for popularizing the mullett and don’t even get me started on that ridiculous achy song. It’s so dangerous that if I even type the title of it here, I’d be sentencing you all to a hellish weekend of humming that craptastic song.
So how do you punish a 15 year-old television and movie star? You just can’t take away her ipod and hope that’s a lesson learned. Disney had officially “grounded” Miley Cyrus for being a bad girl and posing for that filthy photo.
The 15-year-old star of “Hannah Montana” for weeks has been scheduled to appear at a red carpet event Friday, but is no longer expected, Disney confirmed. Cyrus was to appear at a media party in Orlando on Friday, along with dozens of other Disney Channel stars in town to film the “Disney Channel Games,” a charity competition.
Disney did not elaborate on the change in Cyrus’ status for the party, they don’t have to. We all know homegirl is in trouble.
Vanity Fair fired back at Disney’s allegations that they took advantage of young Miley Cyrus. Disney’s statement made it sound like Annie Leibovitz and the editors at VF gave Miley a lollipop and told her to take her clothes off and not to tell anyone. Terrified of outraged parents response to a photo of Hannah Montana Disney threw VF under the bus hard.
A Disney spokeswoman said that “a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines,”
Vanity Fair’s response was to simply post these behind the scene photos of what really happened. The pictures show a happy, relaxed Miley and as far as we can tell, there is no gun to her head at any time. Good for VF for fighting back. The following statement was also posted on the VF site with the pictures.
Um, was Cyrus—or Disney—at all anxious about this shot? “No, I mean I had a big blanket on. And I thought, This looks pretty, and really natural. I think it’s really artsy.”
Miley Cyrus has issued a statement apologizing for a those playfully provocative photos that made the on-line rounds last week, as well as those from a racy, as-yet unreleased Vanity Fair photo shoot in which the 15 year-old appears to be topless.
“My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots. I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone. Most of all,” she says, “I have let myself down. I will learn from my mistakes and trust my support team. My family and my faith will guide me through my life’s journey.”
“Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines. Her parents were there all day. [Father] Billy Ray shot, too. The photo suggests that she is [naked], but she is not. She is covered by a sheet, and beneath the sheet she is clothed. Originally, she was in a flesh-colored tank top but was asked to remove it.”
The Disney statement also claims that they magazine waited until Billy Ray had to leave before they talked Miley into this provocative pose. Miley’s parents are said to “mortified” over this picture of their sweet little girl.
