Joel Madden was told by British Airways that he would not be allowed to board his flight this weekend unless he put on a long sleeved shirt to cover up his tattoos. Of course the entire debacle was documented on Twitter.

There is actually another word we usually use when describing someone who believes things printed in Star Magazine to be the gospel truth, but we’ll stick with gullible out of respect for the Madden clan. Anyway, Joel posted the following message on his blog this weekend to set the record straight and get the fam off his back.

“WE DID IT!! NICOLE AND I FINALLY GOT MARRIED!! Click here for pictures!!”

“HAHA. JUST KIDDING, So I feel really stupid even posting this, but I’ve been getting calls and texts from my family all week asking me why they weren’t invited to my wedding. I guess the only answer I could give them was that I didn’t know we were having one!” he added. “So I just found that Star magazine wrote some story about a 2 MILLION dollar wedding we are supposed to be having, and that’s where it came from. Sooooo if you were pi–ed at me for not inviting you or even telling you, don’t blame me, there’s nothing to worry about,” Madden wrote. “It’s just Star magazine. How long do you think it will be before they write we called it off, or we broke up? I give them a week or two…….”

We aren’t really sure what prompted Joel to post the photo-shopped picture of the gorillas in wedding attire, but who doesn’t love dressed up monkeys?
