James Franco Rips Oscar Writer On TwitterPosted on: March 22, 2011 | Comments Off
I love James Franco more and more every day. I used to hate him. But that was when he was in the crappy Spiderman movie. Then I saw Pineapple Express…I’m a sucker for an adorable stoner. Which is probably why I think this is so funny. Cleary, James was either stoned at the Oscars or he and Anne Hathaway had worked it out earlier that he would play the straight man. Which doesn’t make sense. If anyone should be the serious one…it should have been Anne. So back to my original theory that he was baked. But so what? James Franco has his own path and if it involves being high on stage on a major awards show or guest starring on a cheesy soap opera, who am I to judge? Today one of the writers on this years Oscar’s, and former Celebrity Fit Club star, Bruce Vilanch told New York Magazine, “I don’t think he realized how big a deal it is to do it until he was actually confronted with it. I think he thought he would kind of … I don’t know what he thought. I thought maybe it was a performance-art prank, and then I realized he sincerely wanted to do it. But it’s outside of those guys’ comfort zones. The only people who know how to host those shows are people who get up onstage every night and say, ‘Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. A funny thing happened … ‘ Or people like Bette [Midler] who get up and sing all night and tell stories.” Ok. So then James tweeted this: And then he moved on. Since posting this picture Franco has posted a several more videos, including clips from documentaries. And a video of his cat. Did I mention I love James Franco?
Pictures: James Franco In Drag For Candy MagazinePosted on: October 6, 2010 | Comments Off
Terry Richardson strikes again..and so does the very interesting James Franco. Proving he is ever the Renaissance Man, James Franco does something must men would never do… Barely recognizable on the cover Candy Magazine, James channels his inner drag queen for the famous photographer. Candy is : “‘The first fashion magazine ever completely dedicated to celebrate transvestism, transexuality, cross dressing and androgyny, in all its manifestations.’
Is James Franco Trying To Come Out Of The Closet?Posted on: May 5, 2010 | Comments Off
Gawker printed this saucy little post about James Franco that I found particularly interesting. There have been tons of rumors about the the actors sexuality and if he’ll ever come out of the closet or not. By the sounds of this…he might be open to the idea. Let the rumor mills roll: James Franco dodged some dicey questions at a panel discussion following Sunday’s Tribeca Film Fest premiere of his doc, “Saturday Night.” “One of the guests asked James a few things that alluded to his sexuality,” says a panel-goer, explaining that the line of questioning was in regards to Franco’s on-camera kiss with Will Forte on “SNL.” “Franco’s rep stopped him from answering, and the crowd got really uncomfortable.” But Franco didn’t seem to mind: “Will and James were taking pictures of themselves with a Polaroid at the afterparty [at 48 Lounge],” says a spy. “And then James turned to Will and joked, ‘Uh-oh, this one is going to make people talk!’ Will even told a passerby, ‘James is a very passionate kisser!’”
Sneak Peek: James Franco On General HospitalPosted on: November 21, 2009 | Comments Off
I’m still unsure why A-lister James Franco is doing it, but Friday began his “lengthy arch” on General Hospital, in which he plays a vagrant performance artist named Franco who visits Port Charles to exhibit his work. Here’s a clip from Franco’s first ‘GH’ appearance in which he lurks in the shadows while watching the local mobsters shoot each other. I hear JF’s decision to go slummin’ on the soaps is for “his art”. Whatever that means. At the very least maybe he’ll raise the bar for soap opera acting.
James Franco to Star On ‘General Hospital’Posted on: October 2, 2009 | Comments Off
Will someone please explain to me why James Franco has signed on as a guest star on ABC’s “General Hospital” ? And not just for a one-time playing himself role, his character will have a lengthy story arc this fall. The “Pineapple Express” and “Spider-Man” actor will play a mystery person who comes to the soap opera’s town of Port Charles. The recurring role will begin Nov. 20 – to coincide with November sweeps – and will last about two months. Executive producer Jill Farren Phelps says it’s “an honor that an actor of Franco’s caliber would choose to spend some of his valuable time in Port Charles.” I’m so confused..I thought soaps were the bottom of the acting barrel. It usually goes, decide you want to be an actor, wait tables for several years, model, soaps, sitcom/drama, films then rehab.
